COVID-19 Update – New Support Measures
New economic development-related information has recently been released by the Australian Government.
The Prime Minister announced a $130 billion JobKeeper payment on 30 April. This will see around 6 million workers receive a flat payment of
$1,500 per fortnight through their employer, before tax. The following links include information about the payment:
Measures to Help Renters
The Prime Minister also announced new measures to help renters. Under these measures, evictions will be put on hold over the next 6 months for commercial and residential tenants in financial distress, who are unable to meet their commitments due to the impact of the coronavirus. Please refer to:

NSW Emergency Supplies registration portal
In NSW, the State Government have announced a registration scheme for businesses with capacity to provide critical supplies, raw materials or manufacturing capability to produce critical supplies during theCOVID-19 crisis. The following link provides further information:
NEW COVID-19 APP
An app is now available to access direct information on a range of features including health advice and updates on the measures that are being put in place by state and federal governments. To access this information:
- Go to WhatsApp and type in ‘aus.gov.au/whatsapp’.
- Apple app store: the coronavirus app.

The Treasury has released further information about the Australian Government’s package of support measures for businesses. This includes measures relating to:
- Boosting cash flow for employers
- Temporary relief for financially distressed businesses
