Past Event: Economic Development Strategy and Infrastructure Priorities Plan for Perth and Peel
Perth - 8/10/15 10:30 am
RDA Perth is working with Economic Development Australia, RDA Peel and relevant stakeholders to progress an Economic Development Strategy and Infrastructure Priorities Plan working across the Perth and Peel region with the intent on identifying short and long term infrastructure priorities based on a set of key economic indicators. In doing so, it is envisaged that the local government authorities of the Perth metropolitan region and Peel region, through a consultative process, will contribute to the identification of indicators and priorities that will assist in any future leveraging of Commonwealth and or State funds.
The Plan will be directly aligned with the outcomes of the Department of Planning’s strategic Directions 2031 Framework (covering Perth and Peel) and the strategic intent of the economic work undertaken through that process. While the DOP work is a high level strategic planning document, the intent of the proposed RDA strategy will focus more on the delivery and implementation of economic outcomes and the key infrastructure required at a local government level.
Through this project, RDA Perth and RDA Peel will be able to provide advice to government on regional priorities that brings consistent and informed input from all spheres of government, community and industry, including the economic, community and environmental sectors. The relationships between the sectors created through the project mean that strategies and priorities are negotiated with greater levels of alignment and a more strategic regional approach.
